Today, Opera announced that the Opera Mini 6 browser is available for BlackBerry. The new browser sports a much improved skin, a new share button and pinch-to-zoom feature. Other updates include improved scrolling, panning and zooming.
The Opera browser is a great example of what a 3rd party can do with all that’s available to them with the APIs but the company still needs some deeper access. For example, downloading apps through the Opera browser isn’t as smooth as with the native browser, and the integration isn’t as tight. Ideally, RIM would open this up to Opera and let users have as much choice as they want.
Along with the announcement, Opera has announced a cool contest where they’re asking readers to find all 27 song references made in the press release text. Head over to the Opera Blog to read the details and learn about how you can win a Samsung Nexus or Galazy Tab.
