New Apps on iOS, Android and BlackBerry: ComicBook!, Google+, Checkin King and More

We’ve taken 2 apps that are new to each smartphone and we’ll be posting this type of roundup every now and then. It’s fun to see what’s popping up on other platforms and as most developers are interested in more than one platform these days, it might prove inspirational. There also seems to be a difference in the types of applications that appear on each smarpthone and these roundups should begin to reveal the difference in what you can expect app-wise from each platform. For example, BlackBerry apps are generally much more about adding new features and contextual menus than iOS apps which are more about games and media. Click through to check out new apps on each platform.

Description: Google+ for mobile makes sharing the right things with the right people a lot simpler. Huddle lets you send super-fast messages to the people you care about most. With your permission, Instant Upload automatically puts the photos and videos you take into a private album in the cloud, so you can share them anytime, from anywhere.

App World’s “New” section is constantly innundated with template apps and it’s making the category nearly unusable these days. For example, Polar Mobile will sign some deal with a media company and boom…they just launched 100 “apps”. The same is true with a lot of real-estate and car dealership companies. There seems to be an app for every community and the “New” section gets destroyed. It would be cool if RIM limited companies to 1 app in the “New” section per vendor. Here are a couple apps we found that could be cool:

Glide n’ Ride

Description: Get out and get gliding with glide n’ ride. Use the umbrella to glide and land on the vehicles. Create new profiles and make the selection of character as per your choice. Exciting vehicles and backgrounds adds to the intensity in the game. Unlock the new level by achieving the targets of the available levels. The game gets more and more difficult with its surprise packages and increasing number of targets, as it progresses.

Remote Capture

Description: RemoteCapture lets you take a look at a live image captured remotely through your phone anytime and anywhere. For example, you can “watch” the live image of your house if it’s intruded by thieves when you’re traveling. This application needs a PC side application to link with a web camera (not included in this product) and capture the live images.
