INRIX Traffic app

INRIX has announced their INRIX Traffic app that delivers real-time incidents, traffic forecasting and comparative traffic to your BlackBerry. The app is a competitor to BlackBerry Traffic and the power of both apps is gauged by their ability to leverage crowd-sourced data. Since INRIX comes from the iOS platform, it will be able to leverage a different set of data, so depending on what smartphone is most popular in your region, you may find one more helpful than the other. MicroVision Announces Micro-Projector SHOWWX with BlackBerry PlayBook Compatibility

Comments

SHOWWX playbook projector

MicroVision has recently launched a pretty cool micro-projector that has an HDMI connection, making it compatible with the BlackBerry PlayBook. The device is an ultra-miniature laser display that joins a family of pocket-size laser pico projectors. The device has a quick start feature that offers immediate startup and offers true display mirroring. According to the manufacturers, you can display images at sizes greater than 100 inches in a matter of seconds. Since the SHOWWX uses MicroVision’s in-motion laser display technology, the image doesn’t suffer from deterioration or “color break-up” that often occurs with other projection technologies.

SHOWWX+ HDMI is currently available in North America for pre-order on microvision.com and amazon at an MSRP of $369. A full suite of optional accessories, including spare batteries, extended HDMI cables, VGA docks, car chargers and carrying cases are available on the MicroVision online store and from authorized distributors.

RIM Releases Version 2.0 Beta of TicketMaster App

Comments

ticketmaster app

The TicketMaster app by RIM is okay, not great, but okay. The problem with it is that it’s a TicketMaster app and not a “tickets” app. There are a ton of sources where people get their tickets these days and RIM has an opportunity to leverage a wide range of sources such as MeetUp, Eventbrite, Plancast etc. TicketMaster is great for when your’re buying Britney Spears tickets but there’s so much more out there. The latest TicketMaster 2.0 Beta includes the following features:

  • Add events to calendar
  • Set favorite artists and events
  • Leverages geo functions to connect users to events in their area

Download the app in BlackBerry Beta Zone at blackberry.com/betazone.

XIMAD Launches Angry Birds Clone Game Pandas vs Ninjas for BlackBerry

Comments

pandas vs ninjas by ximad

After thinking about it a little more, we love Angry Birds clones. The game style is a lot of fun and switching up the animations is no different than the millions of Brick Breaker clones. XIMAD has recently launched Pandas vs Ninjas, an Angry Birds alternative. The game features some cute animations and is void of any advertising. This game doesn’t really require any explanation as we’re all familiar with the catapult style game. It would be nice if there was a free trial, even if it was just one level, but the reviews so far seem positive.

Check out Pandas vs Ninjas in App World.

For any iPhone users out there, you might like Angry Hipsters.
