When we last wrote about Pinch about a year ago, we said Pinch was coming “soon” to the BlackBerry platform. We haven’t really kept up with the service since but it looks like the service is now available for BlackBerry. It’s always odd when these apps choose not to be in App World but for whatever reason, Pinch isn’t and we have an OTA link.
Pinch is developed by Affle, a mobile media company headquartered in Singapore. Affle has recently released an upgraded version of Pinch that includes location and leaderboards. Pinch makes it easy to stay connected and interact with your contacts, without having to switch between applications. With Pinch you can send messages and animated emoticons, explore cities through games and competitions, and find people with an interactive pin-map powered by Google. Generally, Pinch looks like a fun combination of foursquare-style rewards with instant messaging.
