In terms of enterprise app development, we’re most interested in the BEAM platform. Back at DevCon 2010, RIM announced what it called BEAM (BlackBerry Enterprise Application Middleware). With BEAM, developers would be able to access very simple to use API calls in order to build enterprise apps. The service, for example, would give a developer the ability to see where every employee is located with a single API call. We haven’t heard anything from RIM lately on the status of BEAM, and if you go to the BEAM page, it says it’s still not available. If you join this webinar, we urge you to pressure RIM on more details about availability and let us know.
