ElcomSoft has announced that the latest update to its Password Breaker software can access the BlackBerry Wallet and Password Keeper applications’ master password, providing investigators or government officials full access to stored login credentials and passwords in plain-text. The latest update to Phone Password Breaker gives the ability to recover master passwords protecting passwords stored in BlackBerry Password Keeper, as well as financial information kept in BlackBerry Wallet. With these two new features, Elcomsoft Phone Password Breaker becomes the first commercially available product to offer access to passwords stored in BlackBerry Password Keeper and sensitive information stored in BlackBerry Wallet.
Not only does the ElcomSoft software work with BlackBerry, but it’s very effective with Apple products such as the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. The ElcomSoft also mentions that the software works with “BlackBerry smartphones and tablets” but doesn’t seem to go into any detail about what it does on the PlayBook.
