New Salesforce HTML5 Site Expected to Work With BlackBerry 7 Devices

Comment

Salesforce has announced that it will be launching a new version of salesforce.com that is redesigned to work with touch screens. The site touch.salesforce.com will use HTML5 and will allow you to access the site from any smartphone or tablet, including BlackBerry 7 smartphones (as seen in the screenshot after the break). We haven’t heard specifically from Salesforce but when you sign up for the new site launch, you’re greeted with the above image that shows a Torch 9860 (Storm 3). We know all BlackBerry 7 browsers have support for HTML5 and it would make sense for the site to be compatible.

It’s great to see Salesforce enabling this type of site. When LinkedIn announced its HTML5 site, we were really dissapointed to see that it didn’t work on the PlayBook or on a BlackBerry 7 browser. It’s like they specifically blocked BlackBerry.

Hit up the official Salesforce blog for more details. Sign up to be notified of when the new site launches at touch.salesforce.com.
