CFC Announces 2 PlayBook Apps Available for Demo at Scotiabank Nuit Blanche in Toronto

The Canadian Film Centre has announced that it will have two PlayBook apps available for demo at Scotiabank Nuit Blanche in Toronto. The apps look really cool and one of them is pretty innovative and is in a category of its own called an art app. More after the jump.

The Alone Together app is a cool new art app that is being projected on this wall.

The two PlayBook apps that CFC Media Lab will have available to use at Scotiabank Nuit Blanche in Toronto are:

  • Alone Together is an “art-app” designed for the BlackBerry Playbook that uses poetic wordplay and expressive videos to ponder questions of selfhood and explore the meaning of relationships between individuals.
  • Cats Breaking Antiques, an app that pokes fun at pop culture, media and our digital lives. Users explore this environment as a modernized version of Felix the Cat, destroying traditional media content and objects by engaging with a variety of mini arcade games, quizzes and animated film clips.

Those wishing to demo the apps can do so by stopping off at the Bata Shoe Museum (327 Bloor Street West, Toronto) on Saturday, Oct. 1 from 6:59-sunrise.
