A few weeks ago mProductive ran a giveaway with 1,000 free copies of their software: mProductive LITE. The product gives you one central Dashboard for a better view of your Tasks, Calendar and Memos. With this app, you can see what’s on today or any day this week, and assign any email, call or SMS to your activities. The idea of this app is to merge your PIM apps into a single app so they’re easier to manage. The beta now supports OS 7 so click through and grab your copy.

Rumor: Neil Sainsbury, Former BBSmart Founder, Promoted to Developer Relations

After the resignation of Mike Kirkup late last week, rumor has it that RIM will replace him with Neil Sainsbury. Neil’s former role at RIM was a Senior Application Development Consultant, where is job involved managing the technical relationship with game development and multimedia software companies, among other duties. He’s also the founder of BBSmart, makers of some very popular BlackBerry apps. It’s a logical promotion and it should be interesting to see what impact he has on the company. RIM May be Ditching Edelman and Razorfish PR Firms During Transition

One of the biggest criticisms of RIM is that the brand has taken a serious drop in North American popularity. In this big transition phase for RIM, from the old OS to a new QNX and supersphone company, RIM is going to need new representation. You probably shouldn’t the old PR firms that represent your old brand, when you’re moving on to something new and better. Rumor has it that RIM is shopping around for new firms to represent them.
