There are a lot of moments in this video where the interviewees talk about seemingly amazing things about our world that are common knowledge and not actually that amazing. For example, the notion that “there are so many mobile devices” is interesting and true, but it’s not exactly pushing the discussion forward. It’s just stating the obvious. Or how about when one woman says “what would happen if facebook made an online world?” as though it would change our entire reality and we’d all be in The Matrix. Well, it probably wouldn’t be any more successful than Second Life because online worlds are still a niche market and many people simply don’t like spending that much time at a computer.
So while the video isn’t that mind blowing, it’s still a very well-made film that is a great watch on a Friday. In the end, it does make you feel positive about the scientific advancements we’ve made. Start your weekend on a good vibe.
