One of the first games I ever downloaded on the PlayBook was Keep Up!. It’s a simple game and the developer Szello, was one of the first to market getting a game on the PlayBook. I recently met up with Tareq, the founder of Szello, and it turns out he used to be a RIM employee and is now doing his own company. You should definitely check out Keep Up! and keep an eye on Szello for future product releases.
With the premium version of Keep Up!, you get 2-ball Mode as well as unlockable achievements. There is even a world leaderboard so you can compete for the best highscore.
I like where Szello has gone with Keep Up! for PlayBook and I’d like to see more. One thing that Szello could do is to look at integration with ScoreLoop, the company that RIM acquired and recently announced that the APIs are now accessible through the NDK. I recall Tareq saying that Keep Up! was developed using Flash, so they’ll have to wait for the APIs to be available, but this is the perfect type of game to leverage those features.
If you like what you see, be sure to support the community and get the paid version. You can switch up your soccer ball for a BlackBerry as an added bonus.
