EA Launches MADDEN NFL 12 for the PlayBook

RIM is doing a great job attracting getting premium content to the PlayBook. So far, BBX and the tablet OS looks like it has everything that game developers need to make graphic-rich games. The most recent premium game to launch on the PlayBook with RIM backing is EA’s MADDEN NFL 12. The football game is currently going for $6.99USD.

BlackBerry Traffic 3.0 Appears in Beta Zone

BlackBerry Traffic is a mapping and navigation app for BlackBerry that allows users to plan travel routes and determine estimated time of arrival. The updated app, currently in beta measures real-time traffic conditions to provide users with the best route to take with more accurate estimated time of arrival calculations.

We’ve updated the BlackBerryCool native app to support Disqus comments as well as some bug fixes. The app looks a little nicer too although the icon isn’t great if you’re using a dark wallpaper. The BlackBerryCool app also supports Android, so if you hit the download link or scan the QR code, you can grab the Android version.

Alec Saunders Confirms Many Upcoming BBX Features

We are very excited about BBX. Everything RIM has said about the platform makes a lot of sense and the rumors we’re hearing about the first QNX device sound exciting. The only downside is that all the rumors point to a full touchscreen device, and we’ve never been happy with a full touchscreen BlackBerry. We need our keyboard. Regardless, a recent interview with Alec Saunders confirms some cool upcoming features of BBX, and we’re even more excited about the first devices to launch.

UPDATE: Mobihand Possibly Nearing Bankruptcy: Doesn’t Pay Developer(s)

We received an interesting letter from an app development shop that sells their apps through Mobihand. Mobile Stream is apparently owed a total of $163,976 from Mobihand, and it looks like the 3rd party app store is keeping mum about whether they plan to pay any of the money owed to the developer.
