The latest version of the PlayBook SDK is out and this version includes new APIs for developers to make the best apps possible on PlayBook. The new APIs allow developers to collect device information such as battery, phone, storage and more to alert users on resources. Developers can also leverage an LED service API to allow for application notifications as well as a stereo sound API. These APIs aren’t all that impressive but a small step towards the Super Apps that we love on BlackBerry OS 7 being on BlackBerry 10. We’re eager to see what APIs RIM is working on with SDK 3.0.

HandyGames has made some really popular games for BlackBerry smartphones and the company has recently launched 5 new titles for the BlackBerry PlayBook. The games include Tattoo Tycoon, Guns’n'Glory, Cyberlords, Pigs of Doom, and Townsmen. The games all provide varying levels of difficulty and are sure to keep you entertained. The PlayBook is gearing up to be a pretty awesome Professional Tablet and at Mobile World Congress, TAT was showing off a demo of a concept app for how documents and files could be shared among a group of tablets. It’s demos like this that show TAT as being a great acquisition for the company. As QNX provides the powerful OS that will enable the apps of the future, TAT will provide the UI/UX that will make them stand out above the competition. The latest update to the PlayBook has been pretty incredible.
