The bigger memory cards for BlackBerry can get pretty expensive, but this is a solid deal. Meritline is selling 8GB A-DATA microSD cards for a scant $39.99, complete with converter and free standard shipping within the US. The downside is that us international folks are boned - it looks like the only shipping method I qualify for up here in Canada is FedEx International which runs a scandalous $59.52. And here I was looking to replace my junky 512 card for the BlackBerry Bold. Looks like we’ll have to find another place for cheap memory cards up in the cold, desolate north… Seen any good deals lately?

If you’d rather save your coin, check out Astraware’s free Fireworks app, so you can get all warmed up for the real thing.
Of course, not everyone’s the flag-waving type - maybe you’d rather just get a good deal a slick iBerry theme. And hey, if you’ve got the Wallet application loaded, Bplay can now get all your payment info from there.

Not like you need any more reasons to pick up a BlackBerry Bold when it comes out, but until July 26th., Canadians activating a new BlackBerry will also be entitled to 200 Air Miles, or 500 if you’re getting two devices. Sweet deal! My mum’s taken three trips to Australia from Air Miles alone, so clearly every little bit adds up. Even if you’re not willing to shell out the clams for a BlackBerry 9000, no doubt plenty of other devices will be going on the cheap as a result of the launch. Heck, I hear the BlackBerry 8100 is going for free on Rogers, so why not get 200 Air Miles along with it?

Using an on-device app, MO-Call is offering cheap voice calling worldwide. Now available on a bevvy of BlackBerry devices, this sounds like a much smoother approach than dialling through a lengthy calling card processes, and who doesn’t want to save some coin on international calls? Cheers Hayden!

One of the consistent complaints about BlackBerry is the lack of internal memory available for applications. Sure, microSD cards add some storage for media files, but programs have to be launched directly from the device. Well, Aerize has an interesting solution that involves swapping out applications stored on your BlackBerry’s physical memory onto the memory card so you can store more apps. These guys have an awesome sale going on now, where you can grab not only the card loader, but their fine file explorer (which includes a zip and unzip utility) for half off regular price. These are some very handy tools for those looking to save some room on their handheld… be sure to take advantage before the sale runs out on Friday!

When I saw Ronen’s post on the two new free themes on mobile.blackberry.com for anything running OS 4.2, I was a bit surprised not to see the sketchy Scribble theme or the slick Today Plus, but still stuck with the old Sunday Funnies comic book theme. There might be some technical issues that need to be fixed before we can access these themes up in Canada (or maybe my BlackBerry’s just acting up), but until the site updates, there’s always themes at bPlay to peruse.
