Comment

Slacker are working on version 3.0 of their awesome streaming music app and Jessica at CNET got a preview of what we can expect. Version 3.0 will give users the ability to sync cached songs OTA, with a data or WiFi connection. Apparently the syncing process is a little slow unless you’re using WiFi but the feature is still a much wanted addition. The sync feature will only be available to Slacker Radio Plus members, which will run your about $4 per month. Expect Slacker 3.0 to hit App World in a few weeks.

TetherBerry rebranded Tether and Now 50% Off

Comments

Tether speed test.

TetherBerry, which has been installed on over 60,000 BlackBerries in the past 9 months, will be re-branding to Tether. The app will soon be available in App World, and will come with the ability to tether over Bluetooth. It’s awesome of RIM to allow these types of applications in their store while AT&T and Apple are adamant about blocking them.

In celebration of the rebranding, Tether is 50% off until January 10th.

On a side note, if you’re an Android user, or know one, they’re accepting beta testers.

Pong Release a BlackBerry Case That Cuts Radiation by 60%

Comments

Pong have announced their BlackBerry Curve case that supposedly redirects all cell phone radiation away from the user’s head. The protective case claims to reduce users’ exposure to radiation by over 60%, and has been verified by FCC-certified laboratories. According to Pong, the case works by using principles of antenna theory and physics to channel the emitted radiation up and away from the phone. Full signal strength is maintained, so that the phone’s function and battery life are not compromised. The case fits the BlackBerry Curve 8300, 8310, 8320, and 8330 and costs $49.95. While the price seems pretty high to me, I’m sure there are some out there who are incredibly paranoid about mobile radiation and are happy to pay.
