The BlackBerry watch is official – would you buy?

Comments

inpulse3

Eric Migicovsky is the entrepreneur behind the BlackBerry watch, an accessory that has BlackBerry enthusiasts interested, but also skeptical about whether they would purchase such a device. The watch connects to your BlackBerry via Bluetooth, and notifies you of any incoming messages, calls, alerts etc.

The watch, called the inPulse, will sell for $149 and will include the following features:

  • 1.3″ full colour organic light-emitting-diode (OLED) display
  • Bluetooth v2.0+EDR
  • 150 mAh lithium-ion polymer battery
  • Glass lens and full metal body
  • 22mm interchangeable wrist band
  • Vibrating motor
  • Micro-USB port (for charging)
  • Over-the-air firmware updates
  • Dimensions: 51mm height x 38mm width x 12mm depth

Would you purchase such an accessory? It’s a fairly unique idea but it also seems a little redundant with so many other accessories out there. For example, you can use the VM605 for driving, or a strong belt clip for running.

You can preorder an inPulse from their site.

Coveroo at Demo 2009 – Power User Edition

Comments

nan-palmero-coveroo

Our friends at Coveroo are presenting at DEMO 2009, a conference where companies launch in front of venture capital folks, bloggers and traditional media. In between the sessions, Coveroo was taking people’s phones and using their laser etching to customize attendees phones. Not one to pass up a cool deal, I handed over my Sprint BlackBerry Curve to go under the Coveroo (friggin’) laser (beams). About two minutes later, I had what you see above. Coveroo is now etching on about 60 new additional devices as of today as well as adding in finishes such as metal and glow in the dark. I’m quite pleased with the end product, check them out on their website and be sure to tell them that BlackBerry Cool sent you!

BlackBerry Bold Case-Mate Smart Skin now available

Comments

As a Canadian, I live in a world constantly besieged by snow – cold, wet, snow (we don’t have winter up here, we just call it the White Death). Despite being made by Canadians, Canada is not the optimal environment for a BlackBerry: drop your BB at the wrong time in the wrong snowbank, and it’s game over.

Thankfully, the fine folks at Case-Mate make accessories to protect you BlackBerry from such perilous situation. They’ve just released their Smart Skin line of cases for the BlackBerry Bold, a thin but protective layer that will make sure your Bold won’t become an overpriced paperweight. The Bold Smart Skin cases come in three colors and retail for $19.95. You can check them out at the link below.

BlackBerry Storm/Curve 8900 1600mAh Extended Battery now available

Comments

Are you sick and tired of charging your brand new BlackBerry Storm or BlackBerry Curve 8900’s battery every day just because you want to surf the mobile web, listen to some music and use BlackBerry Maps (oh, and answer an email or two)? Don’t get mad, get a Seidio Extended Life BlackBerry Battery!

Seidio’s new 1600mAh BlackBerry Battery adds up to 15% more capacity than your original Storm/Curve 8900 battery, giving you that necessary extra bit of juice to get through the day, and relegating your original battery to the ‘use in case of emergency’ pile.

Seidio is selling their 1600mAh Extended Life battery for the reasonable price of $44.95. You can find links to your device below.
