RIM Demos Sharing Media Between BlackBerry Smartphone and PlayBook

At BlackBerry DevCon Europe we were given a quick demo of PlayBook OS 2 and some of the features that let you interact with the PlayBook from your smartphone. The idea is really great as many people will have their PlayBook hooked up to their TV, and this will allow them to open files, browse the web and more from the comfort of their couch. At DevCon, the head of Portfolio Software, EMEA, Vivek Bhardwaj, had an issue with the demo and wasn’t able to show us how you can take a photo on your smartphone and show it on the PlayBook. Since then, RIM has posted the video on their YouTube channel.

BlackBerry Developer Conferences Held Globally: San Fran, Bangkok and Amsterdam

This year, the BlackBerry Developer Conference is going global with events being held in San Francisco, Bangkok and Amsterdam. Bangkok is an interesting choice because we would have expected Indonesia, but it’s probably a better place to meet in terms of cost and airport travel. Amsterdam has become an alternative, indie developer scene in recent years with the launch of a conference called Appsterdam. RIM is looking to capitalize and this and attract more devs to the platform. Read on for more details about these events.
