The BlackBerry Developer team has been working hard to get Android developers to port their apps to the BlackBerry PlayBook. Recently, Mint.com released its Android tablet app and we think this is a great time for the company to submit the app to App World. This makes a lot of sense considering many users have had trouble accessing the Mint.com site from a PlayBook, and BlackBerry’s “get it done” crowd loves a good finance app.

We received an interesting letter from an app development shop that sells their apps through Mobihand. Mobile Stream is apparently owed a total of $163,976 from Mobihand, and it looks like the 3rd party app store is keeping mum about whether they plan to pay any of the money owed to the developer. There has been a long-standing issue with app discovery and that it has been relegated to some very basic features such as carousels/lists and categories. There are so many more effective ways that a person can discover an app and word-of-mouth is one of them. The problem is that word-of-mouth is difficult to track as it’s offline, but a recent facebook announcement points to the fact that the company will be owning the space entirely.
