Best Buy to sell Verizon BlackBerry Storm for $199

When we previously told you that Best Buy was taking pre-orders for the BlackBerry Storm, it wasn’t the most useful information, because we couldn’t tell exactly how much Best Buy was charging for the Storm. Now we can.

BGR has posted some images which indicate that the BlackBerry Storm will sell at Best Buy for $199 on a 2 year contract, $299 on a 1 year contract, and $599 straight up. If your Storm purchase is a new activation and not an upgrade, Best Buy will throw in a free Plantronic 360 BT headset. Of course, Best Buy won’t begin selling the BlackBerry Storm until Sunday, November 23rd, meaning you’re going to have to want that headset really bad to hold out for two extra days.

Best Buy to take BlackBerry Storm pre-orders

Comments

Great news for anyone looking to guarantee they get a Verizon BlackBerry Storm at launch. BGR has posted a flyer confirming that Best Buy will take BlackBerry Storm pre-orders with a $50 deposit, effective immediately. Best of all, Best Buy will receive enough inventory to cover all pre-ordered BlackBerry Storms! Official pricing has yet to be confirmed, but Best Buy is expecting it to fall somewhere between $199 and $299 on a 2 year activation. If you really know you want a Storm on day one, though, does pricing really matter?

Best Buy selling BlackBerry Bold for $199 (‘Cool Deals)

Best Buy BlackBerry Bold

Sweet glory in the morning, is that a cheap price for a BlackBerry Bold! Coming less than a month after Rogers dropped the price of the BlackBerry Bold to $299 on a 3 year contract, Best Buy Canada is selling the Bold for $199 on a 3 year contract until November 3rd. While this will surely make any Rogers customers that bought the Bold at launch a little steamed, I can only wonder what AT&T subscribers are thinking. Don’t worry, you only have to wait until Tuesday (but go vote first).

Question for the audience: is this stellar price drop a reflection of the holiday season, the downturn economy, or the fact that Rogers is the only Canadian carrier not to get the BlackBerry Storm this Christmas?

BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220: where else can I buy it? (‘Cool Deals)

Comments

BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220

So you’re interested in purchasing the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 – maybe for yourself or as a Christmas present for a loved one. But in this current economic climate, money is tight, and you’re not quite willing to purchase the Pearl Flip from T-Mobile for $150 on a 2 year contract, or from Rogers for (possibly) $150 on a 3 year contract. The BBCool crew has compiled a quick guide of other venues to purchase the Pearl Flip 8220 at a reduced price.

Wal-Mart: America’s favorite all-in-one shop is offering the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 in both red and black for $99 on a 2 year contract after rebate, with free shipping.

Best Buy: Our friends at BlackBerry News have photos today showing Best Buy offering the Pearl Flip 8220 in both red and black for as low as $79 on a 2 year contract with data plan over $59.99 or for $99 on a 2 year contract with data plan under $59.99.

Future Shop: We had previously told you that Future Shop was looking to sell the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 in both red and black at the magic $50 price point, and recent photos from MobileSyrup only confirmed it. Be forewarned: both models come with a 3 year contract.

The Source: Our friends at MobileSyrup have tipped us off to a Source flyer showing the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 in black for $99 after an in-store credit. The discount requires a 3 year voice and data plan totaling $45 or more.

BlackBerry Storm updates: videos and possible release date

BlackBerry Storm at Best Buy

According to BGR, the BlackBerry Storm will be in-stock November 16th at best Buy, but that isn’t necessarily a release date. Also, a ton of BlackBerry Storm videos have hit the Internet. I wasn’t able to embed them but you can check them all out on CrackBerry. The audio on these videos is really strange. For some reason, they decided to only play a fraction of the audio. I guess they were trying to be creative.

Red BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 at Best Buy October 26th

Comments

It looks like the BlackBerry Bold isn’t the only RIM device coming to Best Buy October 26th. Another screen grab from The Boy Genius shows that a red BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 should be making an appearance as well. While there’s no information on pricing, we do have one other tidbit for you: the T-Mobile codeword for the 8220 is the “BlackBerry HummingBird”. Isn’t that a much nicer name than Pearl Flip? Oh well.
