Unsynced is a BlackBerry music manager that is currently in a free beta. It’s a slick looking app that is available for the BlackBerry Bold and the BlackBerry Curve 8900.
Do download, go to http://m.unsynced.com/beta from your device.
The latest beta updates include the addition of album art, as well as more efficient scanning and playlist creation.
Unsynced features include:
- Painstaking care has been taken to ensure Unsynced Music is efficient and predictable.
- The Unsync button will capture song information. Unsynced does a search on their end and e-mail you the most relevant results so that you won’t forget to “purchase” it when you get home.
- Use any PC to drag and drop music into folders on your BlackBerry using Mass Storage Mode. Listen to your newly added songs through Browse Files, or quickly create new playlists through Create/Modify Playlists, giving you the freedom to add to your music experience not just at home, but wherever you go.
- Progress indicators for those long podcasts.
- Customizable color themes to match your style.
- Send song info to friends to share your tastes.
Get it now because the beta may not be free forever!

Bryte Software are working on an application that I’m personally really excited about. They have begun the internal alpha testing on a new Basecamp portal specifically designed to work with Blackberry platform called “Kompass.” Kompass is the first Basecamp portal made to work on BlackBerry.
Just in case you’re not familiar with Basecamp, it is the world’s leading web-based project management application. They currently have over 3,000,000 users. However, to date, only one BlackBerry application has ever been created for mobile access to Basecamp and it is no longer receiving ample support. This has left many BlackBerry users (including myself) in the dark while iPhone developers create a multitude of apps. I even know of certain individuals switching to the iPhone or buying an iPod Touch specifically for the Basecamp applications.
Bryte Software and Kompass are beginning to accept applications for private beta testers at kompasshq.com.
Be sure to mention you heard about it first on BlackBerryCool.com!

A new service called ArrivedOK will let a list of people know when your flight has landed and you’ve “arrived OK.” The app will check for when your phone registers on the cellular towers when you turn it on after the flight and automatically send out SMS messages to your contact list.
In order to save you money when traveling internationally, the service will only send one text message to ArrivedOK which will then notify the people on your specified contact list.
Currently, ArrivedOK is offering a free one year beta test.
Go register here.
