Facebook for BlackBerry has gone version 2.0 and there are a lot of users are dying to get their hands on this update. For some reason the Blackberry platform seems to be one of the last to get any major update to the most popular apps and Facebook for BlackBerry is no exception. Without reservation I must say that finally RIM is giving their Facebook app some love with a totally overhauled Facebook 2.0 social media application.
What does this mean for Facebook for Blackberry users? There are great new features built into this application including a brand new look with a completely overhauled User Interface that looks pretty much like the Facebook App for the iPhone with icons placed in a smokey gray backgroud. GroupMe has offered 50 BlackBerryCool readers the opportunity to get in on the 2.0 beta build for BlackBerry. In this latest version of GroupMe, the app features in-app chat, which will allow users to send messages over their data connection, entirely within the app and will use push notifications. Also, the new app has a cleaner UI, and GroupMe made improvements to overall performance.
Fixmo has launched a tethering product called Fixmo Extend that is currently in free beta. Just like other tethering solutions, all you have to do is download the app on your device and the executable on your PC and you’re good to go. Features of Fixmo Extend include:

The guys who brought you Tether are coming out with a new app called Wakeful. The app is currently in Beta and it looks pretty awesome. Wakeful helps you start your day off right by replacing the conventional alarm clock buzzer with a voice that reads out some important daily information including local weather, stock information and the day’s top headlines.
