The Bible App (YouVersion) by LifeChurch.tv
We haven’t mentioned YouVersion on BlackBerryCool in some time so I figured it was worth a post to share what has been going on with the app. YouVersion for BlackBerry is a Bible reader program that features a robust online database, reading plans, and sharing options. The app has had some great success with users including over 2 billion minutes of Scripture reading and over 650,000 mobile installations.
Managing the data for the over 40 different standards of English Bible translations and the 22 other languages is a vast undertaking. YouVersion has developed an ingenious system of keeping all the bible text on their servers and delivering your device only the content you want to read. This helps keep YouVersion a space-efficient app, weighing in at about 350k on my device.

It was a little slow going for the holidays but the big news is centered around the recent outages. There have been far too many in too short a time period and RIM needs to address the issue. Perhaps it’s time RIM invests in more redundancies as it seems far too easy for the network to crash. Other than that, there are a ton of new apps to check out, many of them free.

The popular Bible App by LifeChurch.tv and powered by YouVersion has been updated with new features as well as support for every BlackBerry with OS 4.2.1+ including the Storm and Storm2.

The Bible App have over 3 million mobile users across several platforms and their users have collectively spent over 1 billion minutes reading the bible. You can find them in App World’s Top 10.
If App World is not available in your country, you can also download it via http://youversion.com/download from your Blackberry, Android, or iPhone mobile device.
I recently spoke with Bobby Gruenewald, an avid BlackBerry user, entrepreneur and pastor at LifeChurch.TV. He contacted me about a free Bible App for BlackBerry that is surprisingly rich given that it’s free.
The app launched last December and is soon to be in RIM’s App World. Until then, you can get the app from them OTA.
