Boy, Troy was busy this holiday. In addition to the BlackBerry Storm 9520 slides, Troy was able to get his hands on confirmation that the BlackBerry Curve 8900, BlackBerry Pearl 8110 and the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 82xx will be coming to Fido in 2009 under the UNO label. No word yet on release dates, but you’ll know when we do.

Some new hard cases are now available from Speck for $24.95, sporting a very stylish array of colours including green, red, pink and crystal clear. Normally I find hard cases a little bulky, but these look very slim and snug, while also giving your BlackBerry a bit of colour. BlackBerry 8110, BlackBerry 8220 and BlackBerry 8330 cases ready to roll, but if you’re packing an older Pearl, the BlackBerry 8100 SeeThru case is still available. Head on over to Speck’s online store for a closer look.

Vodafone has busted out the GPS-enabled Pearl in New Zealand for $899, alongside a new navigation service dubbed Compass which will be free until the end of October if you sign up before the end of July. After that, Kiwis will be looking at $2.50 or $10 per month. Outside of GPS, the BlackBerry 8110 touts all the usual features, like a 3.5mm headphone jack so your standard headphones can fit in there no problem, externally-accessible microSD slot for easy memory card swapping and a 2 megapixel camera with video recording. Of course, there’s always the 8310 available if you’re digging the full keyboard. More details on New Zealand’s 8110 here.
Hey, speaking of New Zealand, have you guys heard of Flight of the Conchords? Of course you have, my bad.

As predicted, AT&T has added the BlackBerry Pearl 8110 to their catalog of smartphones. The GPS-equipped 8110 is available in red and titanium, and comes with a $149.99 price tag after a $50 mail-in rebate. Also as rumored, the 8100 seems to have disappeared from their online store, except for refurbished versions.

BerryReview found a post by Gary at ViralElectronics which says that AT&T has released new rebates which show the as-yet-unreleased Pearl 8110 with a $50 rebate. This definitely adds some substance to the rumor that AT&T would be dropping the 8100 in favor of the 8110, but still, there’s no official word from AT&T and, sadly, no image of the documents in question.

A new post on Engadget suggests that AT&T might be dropping the Pearl 8100 from their stores. It’s rumored that the 8100 will be replaced with the GPS-enabled 8110 sometime in April, which wouldn’t be the first time an old BlackBerry got bumped out by a new one. They’ll also, apparently, be dropping the aging Motorola RAZR V3 from stores, but that hardly comes as a surprise to anyone.

South African carrier Vodacom looks to be the first on the continent to be supporting the new GPS Pearl, with Vodafone supplying the navigation software. Africa remains a big part of RIM’s game, especially considering the recent launches in Madagascar, Ghana and Uganda. For anyone in the neighbourhood, you can get more info here.
