Bell BlackBerry Storm promotion ramping up

In the midst of all the Telus BlackBerry Storm news that has been on BlackBerry Cool recently, you could be forgiven for momentarily forgetting that Bell is also launching the Storm this holiday season. Bell is starting to crank up the PR machine to make sure that doesn’t happen, with a mass email rollout yesterday and MobileSyrup reporting Bell Storm newspaper ads. Nothing in either ad included information about pricing or launch date, so we’re very eager to see how Bell responds to the rumored Telus Storm launch date and pricing. I have a feeling we’ll be hearing more from Bell very soon.

Verizon launches VCAST Music on BlackBerry Storm

A helpful tipster with the inside scoop just let us know that Verizon has launched the VCAST Music application today for the BlackBerry Storm. VCAST Music allows you to purchase songs individually or subscribe to get unlimited access for $14.99 per month. A quick catalog search of Verizon’s offering tells me that VCAST Music has millions of songs available. You can learn more about VCAST Music at the link below and view another image of the Storm application after the jump.

Win a Telus BlackBerry Storm and a chance to see Stars!

Just because BlackBerry Cool got to play with one before anyone else, doesn’t mean you can’t also get your hands on a Telus BlackBerry Storm. Telus has a microsite up where you you can sign up for a chance to win one of ten Telus BlackBerry Storms.

In addition, those cads over at MobileSyrup have discovered a CTV/Telus contest whereby you can win not only a Telus Storm, but $500 and an invite to the Telus launch party. Word on the street (read: BlackBerry Cool) is that Broken Social Scene’s Brendan Canning is guest DJ’ing and Stars are performing at a private event (did we mention that the Telus Storm is coming pre-loaded with a bunch of Arts and Crafts music?). Click the links below for all the details. Good luck!

Best Buy advertises Telus BlackBerry Storm for $299?

Hello, fellow Canucks. I come to you blogging from the Mid-Western United States, stuffed with turkey and ready to bring those above the 49th parallel the latest in BlackBerry news.

Following yesterday’s appearance of the Telus BlackBerry Storm on Future Shop’s site for $649.99, our friends at MobileSyrup got their hands on a Best Buy Canada banner ad promoting the Storm for $299.99 on a 3-year contract, with a supposed December 18th release date.

The Best Buy link is now dead, so hopefully someone is knocking an extra $100 off the price before putting it back up.

While your waiting for the BlackBerry Storm to drop in Canada, make sure to check out our hands-on impressions.

Telus BlackBerry Storm Copy and Paste

Something all BlackBerry users are interested in, and apparently something iPhone users will never get, is the BlackBerry Storm’s copy and paste functionality. While playing with the Telus BlackBerry Storm today, I had to record a video of how simple it is. I really enjoy how the copy and cut options pop up on the bottom of the screen once you’ve made your text selection. Why can’t Apple figure this out?
