We haven’t heard about the BlackBerry Curve 8980 for some time now but rumor has it that the device is hitting China Mobile and while it doesn’t feature 3G, it will be shipping with WiFi support. The other device we know that’s hitting China Mobile is the Bold 9700, which does feature 3G, giving Chinese users a couple of solid choices to choose from. Other than the Curve form factor and chicklet style keyboard, we can expect many of the same specs as the Bold 9700.

There are rumors that we’ll be seeing at least six more BlackBerry devices with OS 6 before 2011. Among these devices are some interesting form factors including a touch slider, clamshell and possibly a touchscreen Bold/Curve. There are pictures of many of these devices which confirm that they are at least being worked on but doesn’t prove they will make it to market. We’ve heard the touchscreen Bold was scrapped, but it could be brought to market if the carriers see potential for it.

The same could be true of BlackBerry leaks. Many users are going to wait before buying a new BlackBerry until one of the rumored devices launches. Are you one of these users? What device are you waiting on?

We’re starting to see more pictures of the upcoming BlackBerry 9670 clamshell, and the BlackBerry Atlas 8980. We know the 9670 has a 5 megapixel camera, but that doesn’t deter from the fact that it might be the ugliest BlackBerry ever produced. It’s fat and looks like it would be very awkward in your pocket. We have been hearing about the Atlas as well, previously known as the 8910, and rumored to be heading to China. This device looks much nicer than the fat blob sitting beside it, and it’s definitely a slick looking modern smartphone. Too bad the 8980 doesn’t have some of that BlackBerry 6 goodness. More pictures after the jump.

Today we saw a screenshot of a desktop install of OS 184.108.40.206 and BBCool reader apol was good enough to provide a link to the OS file. I opened the file but I’m not really sure how to proceed. As you can see from the above screenshot, it says OS 220.127.116.11 and I’m sure if I was able to get past the prompt “Connecting to Bootrom” it would show the app version, but sadly my technical skills only take me this far. With the link to the OS file, maybe you can have more luck. It would be great if this was of value to someone in the hybrid OS community, and we could see what features are in 18.104.22.168.
