BlackBerry Curve 3G Announced in Australia, Indonesia and Malaysia

blackberry curve 3g

The BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300 is one of the less impressive BlackBerrys hitting the market but it should nonetheless be a hit. The Curve series has had an incredible sales record across North America due to its low price point and small, consumer friendly shape. The new 3G Curve will potentially be a big seller like the previous models, but offer a few incremental hardware upgrades.

In Australia, the BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300 will be available in Optus and Vodafone stores at the beginning of September and at 3 stores from October. The device will be available from Vodafone free on £25, 24 month price plans, including 500 minutes, unlimited texts, 500MB of data and email. In Indonesia and Malaysia the Curve 3G is expected to be available in September.

Keep on eye on RIM’s press section to see more Curve 3G announcements internationally.

Rogers BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300 Arrives in Store

rogers blackberry curve 3g boxes

The Rogers BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300 has arrived in Rogers retail outlets and the box has the same modern look as the BlackBerry Torch. RIM has done a great job of updating their device packaging so it isn’t stuffed with manuals, CDs and giant chargers that take up space. The new BlackBerry packaging is about half the size and doesn’t come with a case like they used to. It’s a little lame to not get a case but it makes a lot of sense not to include it anymore. By not giving the user a free case, RIM has really opened up the third party case market.

The BlackBerry Curve 3G from Rogers comes with OS with no App World preload. We have been hearing about how RIM scored an App World preload deal for some time but perhaps it will only come with App World 2.0. A couple more pics after the jump.

RIM Officially Announces the BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300

blackberry curve 3g

We’ve been hearing about the BlackBerry Curve 3G for some time now and even Rogers has made the device available for sale before RIM sent out its press release about the device. Today, RIM made the device announcement and we should expect more carriers coming out with announcements shortly. According to RIM, this device will be getting BlackBerry 6 “in the coming months” and hopefully the OS upgrades will finish their rollout before 2011. RIM has also said that this device “will be available from various carriers and distribution partners around the world beginning in August.”

BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300 Coming to Rogers Q3 2010

rogers blackberry curve 3g

This pic comes to us from our friend RogersDude69 who snapped it while on the job. The BlackBerry Curve 3G is one of the least interesting BlackBerrys in RIM’s current product line and even Rogers themselves describe the device as “a basic BlackBerry”. The device is aimed at students and it’s pretty clear that it will have a low price tag. If this device is free, I can definitely see a lot of people getting one. The pic shows that the BlackBerry Curve 3G will be coming to Rogers in Q3 2010 and features the following:

  • First 3G Curve
  • Exclusive color
  • Build-in WiFi and GPS
  • 2.0 MP camera

We’ll have more details for you in the coming weeks about this device so stay tuned.

BlackBerry Curve 9300 Kepler to Launch on Bell as BlackBerry Curve 3G

Bell blackberry curve 9300

It looks like Bell will be launching the BlackBerry Curve 9300 (aka “kepler”) which they are naming the BlackBerry Curve 3G. The 9300 is probably the least interesting device on RIM’s product line to be launched as it’s a minor upgrade in general. The device will run on Bell’s HSPA network and with come with some of the following:

  • 256MB flash
  • 256MB SDRAM
  • Full QWERTY keyboard
  • Bluetooh 2.1
  • BBM

We’re not sure when this one launches but hopefully it will have a really low price point as it doesn’t seem too spectacular.
