Video of the BlackBerry Curve 9300 has surfaced and it’s T-Mobile branded. The device is still in the engineering phase but it looks like it will be hitting the market relatively soon. The Curve 9300 “Kepler” is a 3G Curve BlackBerry that is rumored to also hit CDMA carriers. Overall, it looks like a solid device, taking elements of the 8900 Curve with the silver bezel, and the rubberized keys and trackpad from the 8500 series. The combination will definitely make a lot of users happy. Video of the device after the break.

Poll: What Unreleased BlackBerry Would You Buy in 2010?

There are rumors that we’ll be seeing at least six more BlackBerry devices with OS 6 before 2011. Among these devices are some interesting form factors including a touch slider, clamshell and possibly a touchscreen Bold/Curve. There are pictures of many of these devices which confirm that they are at least being worked on but doesn’t prove they will make it to market. We’ve heard the touchscreen Bold was scrapped, but it could be brought to market if the carriers see potential for it.

When the iPhone 4 was leaked, Apple complained that it negatively impacted sales of the iPhone 3GS. Everyone who was going to buy an iPhone decided to wait until the new iPhone 4 launched. The same could be true of BlackBerry leaks. Many users are going to wait before buying a new BlackBerry until one of the rumored devices launches. Are you one of these users? What device are you waiting on?

More BlackBerry Curve 9300 Kepler Images Leaked

Comments

The latest pictures of the BlackBerry Curve 9300 Kepler reveal something interesting about OS 6 and it’s rollback potential. The device, while it only has 256MB of RAM and is currently running OS 5, is on the 6.0 platform, which suggests it may be OS 6 capable. We have had some IT professionals write in to say that their carrier reps told them 256MB is the cutoff for OS 6, and if this is the case, many more devices than previously thought would be getting the OS 6 rollback. Again, only time will tell and we’ll have to wait until a couple OS 6 devices are on the market.

Other specs of the 9300 include:

  • 3G
  • WiFi
  • 624MHZ processor

There may also be a 9320 and 9330 in development. These may have 512MB of RAM. Be sure to hit the jump and read the rest of the article for more pics.

BlackBerry Curve 9300 Spotted: Update to the Curve 8520/8530

Comments

The next generation of the low-cost BlackBerry Curve 8520/8530 has surfaced: the BlackBerry Curve 9300. The BlackBerry Curve 9300 looks very similar to the 95XX series, with a familiar back case, media keys, rubberized quick keys and chicklet style keyboard. The 9300 also has a Curve 8900 style silver bezel around it which is a nice addition to the product line. According to the leak on CrackBerry, the 9300 adds 3G and the WiFi n standard to the 8500′s specs, while maintaining the 320×240 display.

What’s interesting about this device is the memory (only 256MB). We’ve been hearing a rumor that the 9700 won’t be OS 6 ready due to lack of memory, and it runs at 256MB as well. This suggests that the 9300 won’t be OS 6 capable, which, if true, is very disappointing. Only time will tell with this one.

More pics after the jump!

BlackBerry 9300 is not the ‘Gemini’, we were right

Comments

BlackBerry 9300 mock-up

It appears as though our friends in the Waterloo area were spot on when they pinged us that the upcoming BlackBerry 9300 that BGR revealed yesterday was not in fact codenamed ‘Gemini’. BG did some digging of his own, and come up with this information:

Okay, we’ve got to have a little chat here about the BlackBerry 9300 which we referred to as the “Gemini.” Indeed there was some confusion on our part (yes, we made a boo-boo and we mistakenly referred to the BlackBerry 9300 as the “Gemini”. It is not the Gemini. The Gemini is apparently the codename for the BlackBerry 8325, a T-Mobile GSM/EDGE device with OS 5.0, a 320×240 display, 2 megapixel camera, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n (they’re going to put 802.11n on a crap device?). It was slated to come out in September of this year but with 8900 Curve about to hit up T-Mobile we’d think it pretty stupid of RIM to release it, especially since it’s got some less than desirable specs. With all of this said, we can assure you that the device we were talking about is indeed real.

Hmm. So while the BlackBerry 9300 is not the ‘Gemini’, it’s 3G+Curve=Yay factor still leaves me burning with desire. As for the ‘actual’ Gemini, the BlackBerry 8325? Not so much.
