RIM, in partnership with Zain Saudi Arabia and Alcatel-Lucent, have launched the BlackBerry solution in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Alcatel-Lucent is leveraging its strong local presence in the region to provide Zain Saudi Arabia with the project management, end-to-end implementation, installation, commissioning and on-going support for delivering the BlackBerry solution to the Saudi market. With Alcatel-Lucent managing integration and deployment, Zain Saudi Arabia can focus on managing subscribers and providing adequate customer care.

When the program launches, Zain will be offering its customers the BlackBerry Curve 8900, BlackBerry Bold 9000, BlackBerry Pearl 8120 and BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220. Customers will also have access to BES and BIS.

Hopefully Saudi Arabia will also be able to get their hands on some of the latest devices that will be launching this fall in North America.

BlackBerry Pearl 8120 and 8220 Flip comparison video

Comments

Zara, who writes a blog mobilechic, has done a video review of the BlackBerry Pearl 8120 and 8220 Flip. The video is a quick comparison of the 2 devices and she highlights some first impressions.

Things you’ll notice immediately with the Pearl Flip:

  • Thicker, shorter and heavier.
  • Recessed trackball.
  • Lower build quality (battery cover jiggles).
  • Keys are bigger and easier to press.
  • Larger screen resolution.
  • External screen that shows date, time and messages. Screen also displays media playing.
  • Double the amount of internal memory (128mb).
  • I would agree with Zara’s conclusion and I too would rather the Pearl Flip. What say you readers?

    BlackBerry Pearl 8120

Remember the huge rainbow of upcoming BlackBerry Pearl and Curve device colors we showed you way back in August? The Boy Genius is reporting that three of those colors: Frost, Black Emerald and Indigo will appear on AT&T in the form of BlackBerry Pearl 8120s October 15th.

A little fun just in time for Halloween? Think again. This trilogy of Pearls is likely being launched by AT&T to take away some of the sting of T-Mobile’s BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 launch. Check out the full palette after the jump and post a comment to tell us which is your favorite color.
