File this one under “to be determined”. However, MobileInCanada has published a photo today showing what looks to be a legit Rogers BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 promotion offering the device in pink for $50 on a three-year contract. Now we know from CTIA that the Pearl Flip will eventually be coming to T-Mobile in a bright red, but this looks to be different. As well, right around CTIA Rogers accidentally published a Pearl Flip promotion that showed the device to be $150 on a three-year contract.
Our thoughts? If the image is legit, expect Rogers to do the same thing they did to the BlackBerry Bold, and drop the price of the Pearl Flip 8220 around six weeks after launch — just in time for Christmas and in a new color. Stay tuned and buyer beware during the Rogers Pearl Flip launch.

First the BlackBerry Storm video, now this: those Italians get to have all the fun! That’s right, it appears that Italian carrier TIM is the first to release the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220, RIM’s first flip phone. Priced at 269€ (approx. $370 USD), the Pearl Flip should appeal to those fashionable Italians with its clean lines and black coloring. You can see the full specs (in Italian!) after the jump.
Thanks for the tip, Joe!

Hot on the heels of the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 Best Buy release date, comes rumors from a variety of forums as to T-Mobile’s pricing and launch date for the FlipBerry.
T-Mobile BlackBerry Pearl 8220 Pricing
* New Activation 2 Year Contract $149.99 (after $50 MIR)
* New Activation 1 Year Contract $199.99 (after $50 MIR)
* Full Upgrade 2 Year Contract $167.99 (after $50 MIR)
* Full Upgrade 1 Year Contract $217.99 (after $50 MIR)
* Partial Upgrade: TBD
* Retail Price: $349.99
The numbers aren’t much of a shock, considering the accidentally released Rogers promotion showed the same price, only with a three-year contract. In addition, there’s word on the Pinstack Forums that we may see the T-Mobile BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 by October 15th, 11 days before it appears in Best Buy stores.

It looks like the BlackBerry Bold isn’t the only RIM device coming to Best Buy October 26th. Another screen grab from The Boy Genius shows that a red BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 should be making an appearance as well. While there’s no information on pricing, we do have one other tidbit for you: the T-Mobile codeword for the 8220 is the “BlackBerry HummingBird”. Isn’t that a much nicer name than Pearl Flip? Oh well.

Remember the Rogers BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 party invitations we told you about? Well, it turns out one of those parties was last week, and old friend of the site RogersDude69 was there to snap some pictures.
Apparently the event was fairly low key, with a lot of Rogers BlackBerry experts going around quizzing attendees about their BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 knowledge for a chance to win the device. However, judging from the pics, Rogers really likes ‘urban’ dancers and people jumping around on bicycles, which is kinda cool.

For flip phone lovers who can’t get enough of the newly announced BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220, we have a variety of updates for you. First, our Spanish friends over at MiBlackBerry.com have found a new Pearl Flip colour in a RIM press release: Silver. No word yet on if we’ll be able to see this colour in North America, but it sure does look pretty. Hopefully those Rogers Pearl Flip parties will shed some light on the situation.
Second, BlackBerryNews.com is reporting that “internal documents” indicate the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 will also soon be released on O2 and T-Mobile Germany. Hopefully these releases will come with some new colors as well.

UPDATE:
The fine gents at MobileSyrup have pointed out that Rogers has now placed a “coming soon” page on their site. Still no pricing information, but Big Red already told us their BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 plans pre-CTIA.
A quick scan of our inbox this morning shows where the first two carriers to announce the nascent BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 (does anyone else think that name is just too long?) are in their respective launch plans.
While they haven’t published pricing information yet, T-Mobile has placed a “pre-register” link along with device information on their site. Unfortunately, it appears that for non T-Mobile subscribers, this link merely sends you to the BlackBerry Pearl Flip website that first appeared during CTIA. However, for T-Mobile subscribers, there is an additional link for upgrades. Any T-Mo BBCool readers want to give it a try?
Rogers, conversely, has nothing about the BlackBerry Pearl Flip on their wireless site, but has sent out invitations for sales employees to attend promotional launch parties across Canada. The invites reflect the youthful demographic of the Pearl Flip, containing words like ‘chill’ and text-speak that would only be used by someone born after 1986. Unfortunately, the events aren’t open to press or public; Rogers employees can register at http://www.blackberrypearl8220event.com/.
We’ll keep you up to date when either carrier releases any relevant details for their BlackBerry Pearl Flip launches.

Not much to say here. We told you this was going to happen yesterday. It’s extremely late and we have many more interesting things to post about, but make sure to to say hello to RIM’s first FlipBerry after the jump.

Well now, isn’t this a strange bit of news. Remember that Rogers promotional flyer we showed you confirming the BlackBerry Pearl 8220’s priced at $150 CAN? It turns out that this flyer has found its way into newspapers across the country. This, in and of itself, isn’t so unusual until you remember that the BlackBerry 8220, previously known as the BlackBerry KickStart, has never been officially announced or acknowledged by either RIM or Rogers. While upgrades to older models, like the BlackBerry 8820, often don’t receive separate press releases, I can’t remember another time a BlackBerry has been promoted before any RIM employee can officially speak of its existence.
This would lead us to believe that an official announcement for the BlackBerry Pearl 8220 should be coming very soon, either this week at CTIA (maybe during Jim Balsillie’s keynote?), or even sooner. As I write this late Sunday night in foggy San Francisco, Rogers’ BlackBerry page is currently down, which might mean they’re updating it with 8220 info. Regardless, for now we’ll just have to keep a close eye on things and assume someone in Rogers PR didn’t press ‘print’ a little too soon.
