Leaked pics of the BlackBerry Pearl 9100 Stratus

[Sorry everybody, these pictures have since been taken down. If you check back we’ll surely have more to come]

Gotta love Salomondrin for leaking pics of the upcoming BlackBerry Pearl 9100 aka Stratus. The 9100 is apparently a 3G Pearl for the GSM network. It has SureType, an optical trackpad, 3G, WiFi and the version we’re seeing is running OS Too bad Sal’s YouTube was taken down by RIM legal. Those lawyers are killing the Internet, 1 leak at a time.

Bell BlackBerry Pearl Flip ships with NSFW content

A Victoria, BC couple were shocked to discover sexually explicit videos on their newly purchased BlackBerry Pearl Flip.

“It’s pornography. There’s no question about it,” said Wade Greenwood about the “very explicit” content he found.

Greenwood was looking at options on his new BlackBerry Flip Monday when he came across two videos showing sexual acts. He found several photographs of strangers on the phone and called Bell. Then on Monday evening, he found a pair of one-minute explicit videos. The phone’s history indicates they were downloaded on April 23, before he bought it.

I can’t help but wonder if whoever put those videos on the phone was looking for some viral celeb status. In any case, I hope they wiped the device – both for data and anything else that might be on the phone.

(Rumor) WES 2009: BlackBerry Apex to be announced

There is a rumor going around that the BlackBerry Apex will be announced at WES 2009 in Orlando Florida. The device will be a CDMA version of the Pearl Flip 8230 with EVDO.

The Pearl Flip was a great device that I personally used for quite some time. Although it doesn’t appeal to many people, the flip factor is very popular and it makes sense for RIM to have at least 1 of these devices. My guess is that we’re seeing greater sales than many BlackBerry enthusiasts would have expected, due to the high number of consumers buying BlackBerry devices these days.
