CB forums have had 2 leaked pieces of information that point to the BlackBerry Storm 2 being launched by Verizon on October 28th. The first evidence of a 28th launch is an internal PDF with the date in it. The 2nd piece of evidence the above snapped photo of the Verizon intranet blog also showing the 28th.
While the Storm 2 was rumored to not have passed Verizon’s technical acceptance program right away, it seems all of this is over with and the device is coming. We’ll keep you updated on this as more details come forth.
The BlackBerry Storm 2 is going to be a great platform to develop for. The device ships with OS 5.0 meaning new APIs and features are available to the developer, including the ability to:
Link 3rd party applications to the Address Book.
Use push data more efficiently.
More easily make UI customizations.
Implement multi-touch for zooming in and out of images.

All BlackBerry devices that are made go through a naming process that is, to say the least, confusing. The device name will often change as a BlackBerry goes from engineering to internal testing, then to carrier testing and finally through marketing and out to the consumer. Throughout the process, sites such as BlackBerry Cool are reporting as much as we know, and trying to keep you up to the minute.
With 2 names circling for the latest BlackBerry Storm, we’re wondering which one you like best. Do you like the sound of BlackBerry Storm 2 with a space, or BlackBerry Storm2, without the space?
