Use this QR Code to download the app or hit this link from your BlackBerry browser.
We’ve updated the BlackBerryCool native app to support Disqus comments as well as some bug fixes. The app looks a little nicer too although the icon isn’t great if you’re using a dark wallpaper. The BlackBerryCool app also supports Android, so if you hit the download link or scan the QR code, you can grab the Android version.
Press Menu > Check for Update to update your app. Or go to joemobi.com/dl/1360 from your BlackBerry browser to download OTA.

JoeMobi is a really cool service that we recently took for a spin. The app lets any WordPress blog easily create a native app for BlackBerry with push notifications and a custom design. The entire app creation process takes about 20 minutes and you’re provided with an OTA link at the end. Hit the jump for more details.

BlackBerryCool is now working with Bplay to serve apps, games, themes and ringtones. We still have a mobihand account so you can find your apps on our store. The difference is that the site no longer links to Mobihand and we’re going to be working with Bplay to help build their app catalog. This new change won’t affect coverage in any way, and the only difference is we’re making it easier to find premium content. Here are the links to our store sections:
The main store page is at blackberrycool.bplay.com.
Our games page is at blackberrycool.bplay.com/games.
Themes can be found at blackberrycool.bplay.com/themes.
Ringtones are here blackberrycool.bplay.com/ringtones.
Also, be sure to check out the mobile versions as they’re fully optimized and look great on touchscreens. Enjoy!

If you haven’t noticed, it’s sort of Developer Month here on BlackBerryCool. With the BlackBerry Developers Conference coming up in September, we’ve prepped some quality content that is very relevant to anyone looking to build Super Apps. In particular, make sure you check out the following articles:
Technical Details on Upcoming BlackBerry Webkit Browser in OS 6
What BlackBerry OS 6 Means for Developers and Super Apps
These articles give you a very comprehensive look at what features to expect in OS 6 in terms of APIs as well as the new WebKit browser. Also very pertinent to developers: RIM recently soft-announced App World 2.0 which features carrier and credit card billing, as well as a host of improvements to make the whole experience easier to navigate. We’re expecting all developers to see a surge in downloads once App World begins to roll out preloaded.
Other than that, we’ve got a ton of content that came up this week including a very in-depth review of the latest BlackBerry Pearl 3G 9100. We also have a series of exclusive World Cup 2010 themes you can download from us for free! Be sure to hit the jump and catch up on a week of news.
