While CES isn’t exactly a mecca for BlackBerry news, BlackBerry Cool is still dedicated to bringing you the latest from Las Vegas. Taking a break from roaming the strip and pretending to be Amy Winehouse, Power User Nan Palmero has finally made it to RIM’s CES booth, and has regaled us with photos and impressions.
Hit the jump to see what goodies the BlackBerry Booth brought to CES 2009 and don’t forget to post a comment if you want Nan to sniff something out.

The Verizon BlackBerry 8130 spotted in pink back at CES is set to launch this Friday. All the usual goodies, like 2 megapixel camera with 5 x digital zoom and video recording, EV-DO network support, GPS, and an externally-accessibly microSD slot, are there, available for $199.99 on a two-year plan. You can get another $100 off if you pick up a “qualifying” voice and data plan. Anyone have a Valentine they want to win over with gadgetry?

Remember when Google Updater came out, and everyone moaned how Picasa was just a link to the mobile site? Well, word has it a proper application is in the works, and should not only allow you direct uploading from your phone to Google’s web photo album service, but also let you add tags as well as geotag the location of the photo. The Facebook application featured picture uploading, which is one of its great features over the mobile site, but a fully-featured mobile photo app will be even better. I’m all about the geotagging (and Google, for that matter), so keep your eyes peeled for a release.

Another bit of news out of the Consumer Electronics Show is the release of version 3 of Yahoo Go for BlackBerry is now available from go.yahoo.com. At first glance, it looks like Google-style software suite, but Yahoo’s bringing some pretty cool stuff to the table, including mobile widgets. Right now they’ve only got some for MySpace, MTV and soon eBay, but it still looks like a good platform with lots of growth in it. Still, Yahoo Go! looks more about getting extra features like e-mail and maps that BlackBerrys already have included. For more info on the new version of Yahoo! Go, take a look over here.

Well, SanDisk is set to one-up Samsung’s rumored 8 GB microSD HC card this summer with a 16 GB deal due out in June. For now, Sandisk is featuring concepts of a 12 GB card at CES, which we can likely expect on shelves soon. Figuring out which BlackBerrys supprt high capacity memory cards has always been a bit tricky, as you mostly have to go on anecdotal evidence. Press releases, like the 8820’s, sometimes mention support, but not always. The best I’ve gathered is that any BlackBerry made after the 8830 has high capacity microSD card support, with the possibility of OS upgrades allowing younger models to use them.

First big BlackBerry news out of CES this year is the unveiling of the pink and red BlackBerry 8130 from Verizon and Sprint, respectively. Verizon’s got a teaser up on their site showing off the new threads, and based on reception to the rumors of a pink Pearl coming to Canada, we can expect the new colour to do really well. Features, shmeatures – the people demand fashion!
