The Jam theme for BlackBerry is built around a unique and well-designed icon set. The great part about this theme is the style of the icons: highly graphical and simple icons done entirely in greyscale: Beautiful.

Sumo, the innovative bean bag furniture producer has sent us their flagship bean bag chair the Sumo Omni. Not designed like a classic “Hershey’s Kiss” shaped bean bag chair you might have found in various rec rooms, the Sumo Omni is built to appear like it has ridiculous proportions, looking more like a handheld bean bag that you use in a game of bean bag toss if you were 100 feet tall.

Ottawa’s Carleton University has partnered with RIM to launch what is being called the Teaching and Collaborative Research Centre. The goal of the centre to provide students an opportunity to “explore new possibilities in wireless communications and application development.” The centre will be used for research, teaching, outreach activities, technology demonstrations, and short courses. The centre will also work to keep engineering and industrial design students “at the forefront of smartphone technology and design.”

The Interior Design Show has honored RIM’s Senior Vice President of Design, Todd Wood by selecting Todd as one of 20 renowned designers from around the world to create a new version of the iconic “Julian” chair by Magis as part of the Interior Design Show in Toronto. Todd’s chair was auctioned off on January 26th at the Cherish Charity Event and Exhibit to benefit the children’s non-profit organization, ONEXONE.
