Motorola’s Developer Blog recently interviewed the Chris Glode, Mobile Product Manager, at MapMyFitness. MapMyFitness is a suite of web and mobile tools and a community of runners, cyclists and all types of fitness enthusitasts. There are several apps like it on BlackBerry, and perhaps devs in general would benefit from a few of the tips and info. Like any conversation with a developer, they’re always heavily guarded when it comes to actual numbers (which is really where the value is), so the conversation isn’t as helpful as it could have been. Regardless, we’ve taken a few of the helpful tidbits.

DevCon has wrapped up from last week and we’re just catching up now. The show was definitely interesting from a developer point of view, but one can’t help but compare it to the last DevCon when the PlayBook was announced. The problem is that there is inconsistency, and when you use a conference to launch a consumer product, it sets the tone for the next. Back in early June, we learned that RIM had acquired Scoreloop. For those who don’t know about Scoreloop, or who have never played a Scoreloop-enabled game, the company provides a way to create community, incentives, highscores and more for games. If you’re a BlackBerry developer, you can now use the Scoreloop SDK beta for Native SDK v1.0 for BlackBerry PlayBook OS.
