Elecite, the company known for making premium BlackBerry themes, is moving into the gaming space with a new company called Strapped to a Meteor. It’s a great move and we’ve seen other theme developers like Cocky Culture move into the gaming space as well. It’s important to have a good sense of aesthetics for games and moving from themes to games seems like a natural progression. The new company will be starting with the iOS platform but they say they have plans for BlackBerry as well.
Wave is an interesting theme from Elecite that gives your BlackBerry a radial UI design. The theme puts your apps in an easy to navigate menu, allowing you to touch a category and find apps quickly. Wave also comes with customizable slots as well as a weather slot. Of course, with BlackBerry 6, you can just start typing the name of the app and it appears instantly, but this theme is for someone looking for an entirely new UI.
Elecite is running a pretty cool sale today through tomorrow, September 9th, where all themes in the entire Elecite catalog are 40% off. This deal means that all themes are under $4.50 which is very reasonable. Some of Elecite’s best sellers are Infinity (pictured above), Orion and Polygon, so be sure to check those out.

Aeron is the latest theme by Elecite and it features a cool dashboard-like homescreen. With Aeron, you can organize your apps, messages and calendar events in a clean and unique way. If you have a physical keyboard, Aeron supports hotkeys. Just hit the ALT key + a letter to launch an app or ALT + a number to launch a customizable icon. By using the spacebar, you can launch Quicklaunch by NikkiSoft if you have purchased the app.
Infinity is a cool new theme from Elecite that looks like the screenshots of the Concierge widget service we have seen in the past. The Infinity theme acts as a dashboard for your homescreen, allowing you quick access to important apps. Infinity also features a large clock, hidden today and 5-6 customizable icons.
