When we last wrote about Evernote, some readers were upset that the app was not available for the Curve. As one reader Nick wrote: “I can’t imagine why the number one selling phone, isn’t listed as a device that this is compatible with?”
Well the company was listening and Evernote is now available for the BlackBerry Curve 83xx series.
For those who don’t know, Evernote allows you to type out text notes, snap photos, or record voice memos on your BlackBerry then sync them to your Windows or Mac computer to have easy access on all devices. It works the other way, too. Clip a webpage or draft a blog post on your desktop and then search for and access it all on your phone.
When I last posted about Evernote, the comments were pretty upset about availability. First, the download is only available for the BlackBerry Bold, BlackBerry Curve 8900 and the BlackBerry Storm. Also, Evernote for BlackBerry is only available for OS 4.6+ only.
In response to this, Evernote has offered the download as an OTA link so if you don’t have App World, you can grab it here.
Please note that you can choose whether to download the app to your computer (ZIP) or to perform OTA (over-the-air) installation which requires that you visit the page specified from your BlackBerry’s web browser.
Evernote has had some incredible success on iPhone and they’re bringing their services to BlackBerry, free of charge on App World.
Evernote gives BlackBerry users a feature-rich note taking experience that includes the ability to instantly capture text notes, snapshots, and audio memos at anytime. The data is stored within Evernote then synchronized from your BlackBerry to your computer where you can organize and search through the data.
