By Odin’s Beard – The BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 has only been released in Canada for 10 days and the price is already dropping. Future Shop has dropped the price to $25 on a 3 year plan until November 20th. As an added incentive, Future Shop is throwing in a $25 gift card as well.

So you’re interested in purchasing the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 – maybe for yourself or as a Christmas present for a loved one. But in this current economic climate, money is tight, and you’re not quite willing to purchase the Pearl Flip from T-Mobile for $150 on a 2 year contract, or from Rogers for (possibly) $150 on a 3 year contract. The BBCool crew has compiled a quick guide of other venues to purchase the Pearl Flip 8220 at a reduced price.
Wal-Mart: America’s favorite all-in-one shop is offering the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 in both red and black for $99 on a 2 year contract after rebate, with free shipping.

Best Buy: Our friends at BlackBerry News have photos today showing Best Buy offering the Pearl Flip 8220 in both red and black for as low as $79 on a 2 year contract with data plan over $59.99 or for $99 on a 2 year contract with data plan under $59.99.

Future Shop: We had previously told you that Future Shop was looking to sell the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 in both red and black at the magic $50 price point, and recent photos from MobileSyrup only confirmed it. Be forewarned: both models come with a 3 year contract.

The Source: Our friends at MobileSyrup have tipped us off to a Source flyer showing the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 in black for $99 after an in-store credit. The discount requires a 3 year voice and data plan totaling $45 or more.

For a device that should be released any day now on Rogers, the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 sure does have a lot of price points floating around. The accidental Pearl Flip promotion published around CTIA by Rogers indicated $150 on a three-year contract, while MobileInCanada got their hands on a Rogers Christmas promotion which shows a $50 price point, something that we told you about waaay back in August.
Now, our boy Troy at BlackBerry News has some screen captures of the inventory system at Future Shop showing the Rogers BlackBerry Pearl at a $50 price point and $350 unsubsidized (no contract or upgrade price point). If the Rogers BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 doesn’t launch at $50, BlackBerry Cool recommends holding off a few weeks until it hits that magic $50 number.

The BlackBerry Bold finally launched in Canada this week, but spotty attendance at Rogers outlets and potential 3G coverage issues could rain on the parade. Best Buy and Future Shop are getting their stock imminently, and it may be up to them to salvage the situation in RIM’s home and native land. The BlackBerry 8220 and BlackBerry 8210 that were once known as the Kickstart have begun popping up on a few sites, potentially confirming the mid-September launch date. We go over all these stories and more in this week’s BlackBerry Cool Podcast.
