PingChat! Rebrands as Touch and Serves Over 100 Million Messages


The guys at Enflick have been really busy making a series of products in the communication space. The company had a very popular app called PingChat! that has since rebranded itself and become Touch. Touch is available for iOS, BlackBerry and Android, and has had some pretty awesome success lately. According to the company, Touch has already served more than 100 million one-on-one messages and nearly 10 million group messages.

GroupMe Goes 3.0 With New Features and Support for Canada


GroupMe was recently acquired by Microsoft/Skype for over $50 million. It’s a great sign that if you build a great app and company around it, you can still be acquired for a ton of money even if you don’t make a single dollar in revenue. The company doesn’t seem to have slowed down after its acquisition though and has announced version 3.0 which includes availability in Canada. Click through for more details.

SXSWi: Is All This Advertising Really Worth It?



If you had the chance to experience South by Southwest Interactive, the first thing that hits you is the noise. It seems almost every person in the world with a tech startup is at the show hustling and trying to be the next big thing. Popular marketing tools at the show include stickers, posters, QR codes, and cute girls with pamphlets whom some of them can’t answer basic questions about the app. One company that was making a huge push was GroupedIn. The company went further than most, buying up mobile billboards and trying to stay above the noise by pouring marketing dollars into the show. But is it really worth it?
