Hit iOS Game BADLAND Coming to BlackBerry 10

BADLAND is a really awesome game for iOS that combines elements of the indie game Limbo with side-scrolling, platform action. It’s easy to play and visually really impressive. The developers have announced that the game will be coming to BlackBerry 10 and it looks like they’re close to launch as the demo video is up and the game seems very polished. There’s no official release date set but surely it will be before US Thanksgiving.

YOUi Labs Creates iOS App and Ports to BlackBerry 10 Same Day and Same Code

YOUi Labs is a company that specializes in user interface design and the company has recently put together a demo of an app that they built for iOS and ported over to BlackBerry 10 in a single day, with the same code base. The UI Engine is a cool little demo that shows off some unique swipe motions and it would be cool to see in other apps.

The Top 5 Vendors on iOS By Number of Apps Submitted to the App Store

Recently, there has been a lot of talk about how one BlackBerry World vendor, S4BB, has submitted 47,000+ apps to store and that it doesn’t bode well for BlackBerry’s view that it was about “quality, not quantity”. We decided to do some investigating with the help of the guys at Pretzil.com, to find out exactly how many apps the top 5 vendors, by number of apps, have submitted. Nobody comes close with the most number of apps submitted by a single vendor being 2,168.

Rubicon’s Cross-Platform Combat Monsters Coming to BlackBerry 10

With more game development environments supporting cross-platform development, companies such as BlackBerry are going to see an increase in titles that release alongside their competition. Perhaps we’re coming up to a golden era in mobile games where it won’t matter what platform you choose because they’ll all have the same games. Now, if only the same were true for startups and apps, manufacturers could focus on differentiating from a core-level. Rubicon, a mobile development shop, has announced that in Q3 of 2013, they’ll be unveiling their game Combat Monsters and it looks really sweet. Check it out after the break.

What If Apple Simply Doesn’t Approve BBM for iOS?

There’s been a lot of talk about BBM going cross-platform since it was announced at BlackBerry Live 2013, but the conversation has largely been centered around whether BBM going cross-platform is good for device sales. The real question people should be asking, especially employees of BlackBerry, is whether they’ll be able to get in the App Store in the first place. There are several App Store submission guidelines that BBM violates, as well as the ultimate guideline which is “whatever Apple wants.”

Bang With Friends CEO Says His Co-Founder’s Mom “Loves It”

In a completely serious interview, Business Insider sat down with the CEO of Bang With Friends to talk about what it’s like being outed as the creators and developers of the app. Previously, the developers remained anonymous, and they wanted to know if it’s embarrassing or stressful now that people know they’re the creators of a controversial hook-up app. In what seems like a genuine slip of the tongue, the CEO said “my co-founder’s mom loves it.” Watch the interview because it’s amazing everyone didn’t burst out laughing and stop the interview right then and there.
