mobilEncrypt’s Endpoint software is an enterprise encryption solution for mobile users and works directly on the mobile device. Employees can send and receive encrypted messages using their company email address that can be easily centrally managed as well as the ability to revoke credentials if a device gets compromised.

RIM has announced a new service that extends Microsoft Exchange to BlackBerry and allows customers to manage their BlackBerry deployments in the cloud. The service is available at no additional charge to current medium-sized or enterprise subscribers of the Office 365 suite or standalone Exchange Online and functions with BlackBerry deployments on business or consumer data plans.

RIM has announced their plan to offer BlackBerry Business Cloud Services for Microsoft Office 365. This new RIM-hosted online service is geared toward midsized businesses and the enterprise market. The service allows organizations to manage their own BlackBerry deployments in the cloud.

We’ve written about Mobile Admin several times on BlackBerryCool and most recently they sent us over some validation for their product in terms of disaster recovery. We have talked a few times about Employee Liable vs Corporate Liable smartphones. A corporate liable device is one that the company distributes and is responsible for the cost and maintenance of the device. Generally, this device is locked down and restricted, so as to minimize cost and security risks to the organization. An employee liable device is purchased by the employee, and brought into the organization. This device may or may not be compatible with the network, and it’s up to executive management and the IT department whether or not said device will be allowed.
It is widely reported that employee liable smartphones are on the rise, and in speaking with Ahmed Datoo of Zenrprise, we discussed the possibility that it could be largely attributed to the recession. Employee liable devices are less expensive than corporate liable devices, and while they may carry added headaches for IT, the need for cost cutting has given a large number of consumer smartphones the green light.
