The BlackBerry Bold 9700 is expected to go official with BlackBerry 6 but for those of you who can’t wait for it to get out of carrier approval, a leaked copy of 184.108.40.2064 has found its way online. BlackBerry 6 is a huge improvement over OS 5 and almost every 9700 user is going to appreciate this upgrade. It’s too bad more devices didn’t see a BlackBerry 6 upgrade, but by the time most users are on 6, we’ll probably be seeing OS 7 (the QNX version?). Here are the links you’ll need:

A new clamshell BlackBerry is on the way and we have a few more details about it leaked from some internal slides that have been going around. The device is expected to launch relatively soon with Sprint and the overview slides answer some questions about the upcoming device. The clamshell is said to have the following specs:
- 5MP Camera
- 240×320 external display
- 360×400 internal display
There is probably a lot of market research from Sprint that says customers are looking for a clamshell BlackBerry. The same demographic that bought the Pearl Flip is probably going to love the 9670 Oxford.
Would you pick up this device?
The BlackBerry Bold 9780 (BlackBerry R020) is the refresh of the Bold 9700 and recently leaked training slides show us all the official specs. There isn’t anything amazing here, mostly just upgraded memory (512MB), a better camera (5MP with flash), and of course BlackBerry 6. The training slides also show some demographic info about BlackBerry users as well as how some of RIM’s products fit in their roadmap.
If you’re a developer working on an app for the Clamshell 9670, you can get early access to a simulator leaked online. This device simulator is running 220.127.116.11 so you’ll be working with the latest. That being said, this is not official RIM software so there could be bugs and issues that still need fixed.

The BlackBerry Desktop Manager 6 was recently announced in the Beta Zone but a lot of users in the forums were saying that they had not received their invite. A leaked version of the software is now available so if you’re feeling a little adventurous, you don’t have to wait for an invite from RIM.

The BlackBerry Bold 9780 has been spotted and it looks a lot like the Bold 9700. This device is sporting some of the following specs:
- BlackBerry 6
- 512MB RAM
- 480×360 resolution non-touchscreen
- 802.11 b/g
There isn’t much to say about the device at this point other than it’s good to see another non-touchscreen device running BlackBerry 6. The design of the device is nothing we haven’t seen before, except the bezel on the Bold 9780 is darker than the 9700.
