Magmic Social’s resident poker pro: the Pirate is back. This week he’s giving away lots of BlackBerry booty for anyone who can beat him at his favorite game: Texas Hold ‘em King 3 Connected.
To win, track down, and eliminate the Pirate in a connected play money game. Once you’ve tracked down the Pirate, you’ll have to message him in-game so he knows you’re from BBCool. Say something like “hey, I’m from BBCool, yarr.” He’ll be playing all week on the $5-$10 tables. If you want to know exactly what table he’s playing on, check out Pirate’s Magmic Social player page
and it will tell you all about his recent activity.
Magmic Social is a great tool to connect with Friends and other BlackBerry gamers. If you’re a BlackBerry game fan you should check it out.
This week’s winners will get set up with Documents To Go Premium Edition for BlackBerry from the BlackBerryCool Store. This Premium app normally costs around $70 and is a must-have for anyone needing to reliably create, open, and edit Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files while on the go.
There is no purchase necessary to participate in this contest as you can still meet and beat the Pirate with a 3-day trial version of THK3 from Blackberry games publisher Bplay. Once the Pirate has been beaten we will announce the winner in the comments below as well as in this contest’s discussion on Magmic Social.
Good Luck!

With the launch of App World you may be wondering, what do RIM executives have on their device? Well, Jim Balsillie, aka Jim Dog, the co-chief executive and director of Research in Motion (RIM), has some great apps on his that you can download too.
So what apps does Balsillie have on his BlackBerry?
He said he uses an SAP app for RIM sales and performance, Hockeynews.com for the latest scores and standings, Magmic for card games and others for news and information.
“So when I am bored, I play card games,” he said. “Guilty as charged.”
To download HockeyNews, go here.
For Magmic card games, you need:
Texas Hold ‘em King 3, get it here.
Solitaire Legends, get it here.
Also, once you’ve set up your Magmic card games, don’t forget to join their social network, Magmic Social, here.

Hi my name is W4LNUT. I’m going to be running a weekly contest here on BlackBerry Cool that is all about BlackBerry gaming. I play a ton of games on a daily basis and you’d be hard pressed to beat a lot of my high scores.
Texas Hold’em King 3 is by far the best poker game out for BlackBerry. It’s got full in-game chat, vibration for when it’s your turn, and you can even trick out your Avatar through your online profile at Magmic Social
To Win, be one of the first ten people to find W4LNUT on a THK3 table and tell him “I’m social” using the in-game chat.
If you don’t have THK3 yet, download the trial here.
If you’ve already have a copy to call your own, give your winning copy to a friend or a coworker whose productivity you’d like to drastically reduce.
Finding W4LNUT is way easier than finding Waldo ever was. You can join a friend’s table within THK3, or check out which table I’m playing on at my Magmic Social profile.
Winners, as well a new contest will all be announced next week.
Good Luck! Comment if you want help from W4LNUT.

BBMNation
BBMNation is a social network that, like most BlackBerry social networks, uses PINs to connect users. Designed by a night club promoter named Steven Ojo and his partner Alex Trumpower, the site launched about a year ago. The site is incredibly bare bones, and has a graphical style reminiscent of web 1.0. On the bright side, its users seem to be attractive college students, possibly associated with Steven Ojo’s night club background.
You can register for BBMNation here.
Magmic Social
Magmic Social aims to connect its BlackBerry and mobile gamers with one another in order to create a better overall mobile gaming experience. The site does this by connecting users, creating high scores, developing personalized avatars and promoting a more interactive community.
Magmic Social is in my opinion, the most unique of all the BlackBerry social networks. The reason is that is focuses on the one aspect of BlackBerry that gets the least news coverage: games. I’m hard pressed to find a blog that focuses on BlackBerry games specifically, which is interesting considering it’s such an up-and-coming market.
Go see Magmic Social for yourself here.
