RIM Launches BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac

RIM has released a version of it’s BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac. RIM has relied on acquired third party syncing software for a few years now, with some features simply not present and others obviously not as well-crafted as the native PC BlackBerry Desktop Software. I had been running XP (albeit very slowly) through emulation on the Mac OS just to deliver all the features of the PC utility so this comes as very welcome news.
Here are some of the features:

  • Sync iTunes® playlists
  • Sync personal info like contacts
  • Sync tasks and appointments
  • Install new software, games, and more
  • Keep your BlackBerry software up to date
  • Create partial or full system backups

In the end, we’re stuck fiddling with the problem and before we know it, it’s time for bed.

So I’ve decided to give a helping hand to my fellow Mac users here on Blackberry Cool, who, without a doubt, find themselves searching frantically on forums for help. As an avid BlackBerry and Mac user, I will be publishing a regular column to help Mac users better interact with their BlackBerry. For my first article, I’ve compiled a quick list of all the possible solutions to have your Blackberry interacting with your Mac.

Missing Sync updated for OS X Leopard

AppleFor any Macophiles out there, we’ve received word from Ronen that the Mac/BlackBerry syncing program, Missing Sync, has had an update recently to accommodate the new OS X Leopard. Missing Sync showed up on the radar back in February, and has no doubt seen some popularity with the attention-starved Apple crowd. If you happen to be one of those poor souls, the new software runs for $39.95.
