Neverfail is a disaster recovery solution for mobile messaging on BES, that protects users from losing important data. Their latest announcement includes support for the Novell GroupWise messaging system.
Neverfail protects against planned and unplanned outages of messaging servers, SQL configuration databases and the BES itself. With the option to deploy locally for high availability or remotely for disaster recovery, Neverfail provides a single solution that does not require the re-architecture of existing systems or upgrades of software to maintain delivery of e-mail if components in the infrastructure fail.

One of Europe’s leading advertising agencies, Euro RSCG , has deployed Neverfail’s BlackBerry email backup application to service 150 of its most senior executives in the Asia-Pacific region.
The use of the application was in response to a hard-drive failure that crippled its BlackBerry email services. The problem took days for them to recover from as reinstalling the BlackBerry Enterprise Server “was not an easy task.”
The company has said it’s very pleased with the Neverfail solution. My question to BlackBerry Cool readers is – have you experienced a similar problem within your organization? If your organization has not experienced this problem, what alternate safeguards do you have in place?

You already heard what the people have chosen, and now to announce what the supposed experts have to say. Like we mentioned in last week’s podcast, it’s a tough call to make with such a wide range of products being shown off at WES. The judges for each category had their own set of standards (as you can see), so the results are bound to be highly subjective. The fact of the matter is every exhibitor at WES had something worth showing off, and these were just some of the few that stuck out in our judge’s minds.
Winners after the jump…

We’ve tallied all the votes, and we’re now ready to announce the winners of BlackBerry Cool’s First Annual Best of WES: People’s Choice Contest. Reader participation is a huge deal here at BBCool HQ, so we were touched to see so many people voting for their favorite BlackBerry products and services. One of the most startling aspects of the contest was seeing just how close the voting was in many of the categories — you guys really like a lot of different things! To that end, we’re going to post the top three favorites in every category.
Thanks to everyone who voted!

For our last show before WES, we talk with Neverfail and BoxTone about their recent partnership, as well as the spiffy lounge at WES, followed up by a talk with SugarSync about their desktop and mobile file access apps, and then Chalk about their exciting plans for WES, which include a prize-packed contest. As usual, we run down the news, namely the BlackBerry 9100’s flip form factor coming to light, Canadian government stepping into the ongoing Indian debacle, and RIM’s post-WES plans for certification. You can grab the MP3, XML, or iTunes.

I just got off the horn with BoxTone and Neverfail for this week’s podcast, and they mentioned the pimpin’ lounge area BoxTone will be setting up at WES this year. The Mobile User Management Lounge will be split up into three zones (Mash-up Room, Pro’s Corner and Gamer’s Pad) to offer some room for attendees to chill, network and have some one-on-one time with the folks you meet at WES. You can bet that you’ll be seeing the BBCool team around here a fair bit come WES time, so feel free to swing by! It’ll be right across from the Solutions Showcase – can’t miss it. For more info about the lounge, as well as BoxTone and Neverfail’s recent partnership, be sure to keep an eye out for our podcast this Friday.

Neverfail, provider of disaster recovery services, and BoxTone, the big name in BES monitoring, have today announced a partnership. The key benefits seem to be geared towards common customers, but as time goes on, we’ll likely see new features linking the two closer together. They’ll both be at WES as well, so we’ll likely get a taste of how this team-up will benefit both products.
“The combination of Neverfail and BoxTone truly is a natural fit,” said Nick Harmer, VP of Channel and Sales Development for Neverfail. “As adoption of the BlackBerry Enterprise Solution continues to grow globally, more and more enterprises recognize the importance of a mobility platform and are looking for continuous availability across the extended BlackBerry environment. Neverfail looks forward to working with BoxTone to deliver comprehensive availability protection and a proactive management, monitoring and support solution for BlackBerry deployments.”

Neverfail specializes in disaster recovery and prevention in IT areas. They offer broad support for BES, monitoring apps, network infrastructure, and the physical servers. Their software detects any outages within the system and implements an automatic failover to restore service within 90 seconds. It even integrates with other software — such as Conceivium’s MobileMonitor — to provide better support. Hopefully we’ll get to see some cool demos at WES.
