Karman Interactive is a new startup by the Canadian Entrepreneurs Jon Keon and Mike Baker, already known in the development community for their helpful blog they run with two others. They’ve recently gone live with a great looking website and a live physics demo you can try from your browser. This startup company is using web and game technologies to bring their clients apps and games to BB10, iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Desktop, and Web.

FaceFlow Video Chat Coming to BlackBerry 10

FaceFlow is a cross platform video chat system using both browsers and native mobile apps. The company recently discovered that a lot of BlackBerry PlayBook users have been accessing their service via their tablet’s desktop-grade browser and it has prompted the company to develop a native app for BlackBerry 10.

The art in this game is therefore unparalleled, and the gameplay experience is fantastic. If you were ever a Where’s Waldo fan, you’ll really get a kick out of the game.

How Does RIM Succeed in Enterprise/Government When All Smartphones Are FIPS Certified?

Recently, RIM was at GTEC, Canada’s Government Technology Event, where Paul Lucier, Head of Global Government Solutions, was talking about BYOD, BES 10 and a little bit of BlackBerry 10. During the same day, RIM was also presenting its progress on BlackBerry 10 at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier. While there wasn’t much new on the BlackBerry 10 side of things (at least since what we saw at BlackBerry Jam), it was interesting to see RIM tout its FIPS certifications and announce that BlackBerry 10 was FIPS certified before launch (an industry first). But RIM isn’t unique in its ability to get FIPS certification. Other smartphones will get it. So what is RIM’s competitive advantage in a market where its competitors are also FIPS certified?
