New mobile site helps you find food

Comments

FOOOOODCityMint just announced a new way of ordering food before you get there – simply visit their mobile-ready web page, click what you want on their menu, and the cooks will get going. Not only that, it’s also a great way to find new joints in your area. Right now the pilot program is just in San Francisco, but could easily save time on waiting for a tables and grub once it spreads to other major cities like New York and L.A. Owners can get their restaurants registered quickly and easily, and anyone in San Francisco can head on over to m.citymint.com on their BlackBerry’s browser to see what’s cookin’.

Zagat To Go updated to version 6.0

Comments

ZagatA user on the Pinstack forums noted that the city guide software Zagat To Go has been updated to version 6.0. The software allows you to find over 30,000 restaurants, golf courses, hotels, and other locations for the BlackBerry user on the move. You can also use Zagat to Go to automatically dial the number for the spot you’ve chosen, read reviews, get directions, and quite a lot more. Version 6.0 adds a redesigned interface as well as favorites, wish lists and the ability to browse an alphabetical list of all locations in an area. A 14-day free trial is available or you can purchase a one year subscription for $29.95. They offered a 1500 free subscriptions to BlackBerry users last July, so we’ll keep any eye out for anything similar to celebrate this new release.

GeoTipJosep just pointed us to a handy, free, lightweight app that figures out how to split up restaurant bills, taking into account taxes and tips. Geotip even supports slightly more complicated taxing systems with more than one rate being applied to whatever you’re buying. If you go out often and usually split the bill, you can download this handy little thing to your desktop.

Zagat offers 1,500 free Zagat to Go subscriptions for BlackBerry

Comments

Lady and the TrampHere’s something that just popped up on our radar that may be of interest to all you fine-dining fans out there. Effective today, Zagat is offering 1,500 365-day subscriptions to Zagat to Go for BlackBerry. Zagat to Go is a restaurant and entertainment guide for smartphones that gives users access to ratings and reviews of thousands of restaurants, nightspots and hotels throughout the world as well as the best US golf courses. Sounds way better than slumming it like our friends to the left (although possibly less romantic).

There are a few minor caveats before you can get on your way to the guide goodness, however. The subscriptions are first come, first serve, so get there fast. Also, the offer is not open to existing Zagat to Go subscribers, and there is a limit of one per person. To redeem your free subscription, head on over to:

and register. When you do, make sure you tell them that the ‘Cool sent you.
