Coming up next Tuesday is a webcast outlining features of new ACT! software on BlackBerry. For those who have never heard of it, ACT! is a contact management application. At its bare minimum, ACT! is a shared rolodex for your network, but let me tell you from personal experience, it’s a powerhouse when it comes to office management, and the fact that it’s coming to BlackBerry is huge.
The desktop software keeps track of sales, records meetings, documents, pictures, and companies all relating to the contacts you’ve input. Not only does it work extremely well with Outlook mailing lists and appointments, the whole system is incredibly customizable, depending on how far you want to go. With a well-populated ACT! database accessible via BlackBerry, you could find out the random guy sitting across from you at a conference banquet worked for a competitor three years ago, and recently signed up for your company’s newsletter – blammo, instant business.
