BlackBerryCool is now working with Bplay to serve apps, games, themes and ringtones. We still have a mobihand account so you can find your apps on our store. The difference is that the site no longer links to Mobihand and we’re going to be working with Bplay to help build their app catalog. This new change won’t affect coverage in any way, and the only difference is we’re making it easier to find premium content. Here are the links to our store sections:

The biggest news this week is definitely the relaunch of our mobile app store. The mobile site is greatly improved, and the on device app store has gone version 2.0. With the new on-device app store, you can browse apps, themes, games and accessories, which are all nicely grouped making the experience smoother. To promote the new app store launch, mobihand have a great contest where they’re giving away a 32GB WiFi iPad and some apps. The newest version of the BlackBerryCool on-device App Store has launched and it’s officially a SuperStore. The app store features 4 main categories including Apps, Themes, Games and Accessories. With a single click, you can enter the store and see the Deal-of-the-Day, bestsellers, specials, new products, browse by category, and search. This is a huge update as themes and apps are no longer grouped together, making the browsing experience much more enjoyable.
Once you have downloaded the App Store, no need to sort through software depending on your device. The app store automatically detects your device, and only serves you applications available for your model. The BlackBerryCool SuperStore also features, for each product type, a new “top grossing” product list. This means higher-priced products that sell relatively fewer units can earn a spot on the top-sellers lists. Other improvements to the store experience include some major performance enhancements.

The beginning of March marks the 4th year that BlackBerry Cool has been around. We started off fairly small with only a few Google ads and a lot of posts. Over the 4 years we’ve been reporting on BlackBerry, the device has gone from this, to this.
Also, our traffic has over the years gone from almost nothing to over 1 million uniques and 5 million pageviews per month!
