tawkon

Like Steve Jobs, we’re not really interested in Tawkon but it’s great to see that the company is still working on its product and releasing updates for BlackBerry. The thing to remember about Tawkon and cell radiation is that the amount of radiation you receive to your head follows the inverse square law. By using your headphones and text-based communication more, you’re reducing the amount of radiation to nearly zero. Tawkon is an app that addresses the cell phone radiation paranoia that has been a hot topic of discussion in the media for some time. Tawkon let us know that they have updated their app with a free trial. Considering the app is $9.99, a free trial is a great way to give customers a little reassurance that their money is well spent. The new free trial allows the user to get 75 monitored calls on supported BlackBerrys.

We’re not sure about whether cell radiation is actually something that users should concern themselves with, and there are plenty of ways to avoid any potential risk. One such way is to remember the inverse square law. By communicating more through email, SMS and BBM, you avoid having the device close to your head.

Tawkon is an app that addresses the cell phone radiation paranoia that has been a hot topic of discussion in the media for some time. Whether or not cell phones emit a level of radiation that has any significant effect on humans is still inconclusive, but some governments have already responded to the consumer fear. San Francisco recently passed a law that requires retailers to display the amount of radiation a phone emits.

Recently, the app was updated to include more devices such as the Curve 8520, 8900 and Bold 9000. Following this update, Tawkon is also offering their application for 50% off until July 6th (now $4.99).

If you have been interested in the app and how it works, now might be a good time to try it out. In general, the app features a wide range of alerts and statistics to give you a close look at the radiation you may be experiencing given your usage level and other conditions such as your proximity to a cell tower.
